Styles of the World Italy

Sorry everybody it took so long to get back to my blogging! I was enjoying my weekend off for the 4th of July! Hope you guys had a good one! Now that I am here, let’s get back to what is important, the styles of the world. More specific, the styles of the fashion capitals! Next on our stop is possibly one of my favorites Italy! Which city is most famous for Italian fashion and where the most fashion houses our located? Well there is two! Well sort of. See older fashion houses were located in Rome, but now they have moved to the famous Milan. To describe Italian fashion lets just say it is everything that French and British fashion own but with a lot more edge. Who makes this edgy style famous none other than these designers: Salvatore Ferragamo (Who was the first Italian luxury fashion brand), Valentino, Gianfranco FerrҐ, Giorgio Armani, Gianni Versace, Fendi, Dolce & Gabbana and Gucci (Which is the biggest selling Italian luxury fashion brand). With a little background knowledge about Italian fashion, lets get to the fun part; THE CLOTHES!

The dress I chose to embody Italian fashion is this Dolce & Gabbana Rose Dress from Neiman Marcus. You can see the clean cut that both French and British fashion has, but also an edge that the Italian put on it. This makes it a hip and funky dress. You see this edge especially in the sleeves and bodice. In the sleeves you have ruffles that make this clean cut dress into something different that you don’t usually see on the streets. That’s when you get to the bodice and see that instead of something that is tight and fitted to the body, you have somewhat of a puff. This puff combined with the ruffles which you would not see very often is why I chose it to be that edgy dress that symbolizes Italian fashion.
